Meltdown

I just put together a mix tonight--to get me through the weekend, I suppose--and thought I would post it right away. Two posts in one day...it's like I took steroids or something. (Hmm, I wonder what kind of music Barry Bonds listens to...Twisted Sister?).

Anyways, here's the mix. There's a good measure of Gnarls Barkley on here (about whom I've blogged below), also a couple tunes each by Weezer, Andrew Bird and Beck (I love "I Think I'm in Love"). Also: a good track by a band that's new to me, The Virgins; a classic cut of Midwestern swagger from John Mellencamp; and some other stuff, too. I'll post this mix on the right by the weekend...so I can listen to it when I forget to bring my iPod to work next week.

1. Charity Case, Gnarls Barkley, The Odd Couple
2. Breakin' Up, Rilo Kiley, Under the Blacklight
3. Rich Girls, The Virgins, The Virgins 07 EP
4. I Think I'm in Love, Beck, The Information
5. Black Horse and the Cherry Tree, KT Tunstall, Eye to the Telescope
6. Whatever, Gnarls Barkley, ibid.
7. Say It Ain't So, Weezer, Weezer
8. Mardy Bum, Arctic Monkeys, Whatever People Say I Am, That's What I'm Not
9. Plasticities, Andrew Bird, Armchair Apocrypha
10. Scythian Empries, Andrew Bird, Armchair Apocrypha
11. Sitting, Waiting, Wishing, Jack Johnson, In Between Dreams
12. What Would Wolves Do?, Les Savy Fav, Let's Stay Friends
13. Authority Song, John Mellencamp, Uh-Huh! (from 1983...what a great album title.)
14. Blind Mary, Gnarls Barkley, ibid.
15. Holiday, Weezer, ibid.
16. Tropicalia, Beck, Mutations
